Halls of Reflection

The Halls of Reflection is by far the most difficult of the 3 new dungeons. It is very short; however it makes up for its length in difficultly. If you are into WoW lore, this dungeon has some of the best RP and it actually very exciting, especially the first time you head in there.
For the sake of keeping the RP event epic and not ruining it, I will not elaborate on it.
The first boss consists of waves of undead mobs. The popular idea is to line of sight the mobs back in a corner as they spawn. I found this strategy to be pretty stupid if you have a decent tank. The most effective way of clearing the waves is to tank them right in the doorway. Make sure you are far enough in so that you don’t get locked outside, but don’t stand in the middle of the room either. This is pretty intense on the tank and healer. The healer’s survival is most important during these waves, so if you are damage do your best to keep agro off the healer as the tank will probably miss a caster every now and then. Misdirect and Tricks of the Trade are very valuable in this situation.

After 5 waves of mobs, you encounter the first boss Falric. This boss is pretty simple. Every now and then he will cast Defiling Horror. This will send everyone running in fear, doing damage every second. Occasionally, Falric will cast Hopelessness. Every time he casts this, it reduces damage and healing by an increment, stacking up to a 75% on heroic mode. This makes Defiling Horror more annoying as the fight reaches the end, as it’s increasingly difficult to heal everyone up with such a healing reduction. Other than that, the fight is pretty simple and easy if your dps is pulling their weight. After killing Falric, you will have a short break to prepare for the following 5 waves.

Fallen Sentry's Hood
Valonforth's Tarnished Pauldrons

Heroic Mode:

Soulsplinter
Bracer of Worn Molars
Chestpiece of High Treason

Spiked Toestompers

After clearing the last 5 waves, it’s time to face Marwyn. This boss is a bit more difficult than the last one. Marwyn is more like a deathknight and casts Obliterate frequently. He will cast Well of Corruption, which will corrupt you and increase shadow damage taken. The most dangerous spell he uses is Shared Suffering. It is a DoT, but if you remove it, it splits and the remaining damage is done to the whole party. That can be pretty rough at times. Another spell Marwyn uses is Corrupted Flesh which reduces the target’s maximum health by 25%/50% for 8 seconds. (The percentage is based on difficulty. 25% normal, 50% heroic) This encounter is pretty simple really. I feel that the most challenging part are the waves before the bosses.

After clearing Falric and Marwyn, you head up the hallway and there is the Lich King. Jaina/Sylvanas is in hand to hand combat with Arthas. Once you are close enough, Jaina/Sylvanas CC’s the Lich King as you wait to start the event. Talk to Jaina/Sylvanas to get going. Once you start, you must follow them as the Lich King pursues your group and spawns waves of undead to attack you. Protect Jaina/Sylvanas as they break down the barriers to advance forward. This gauntlet event consists of 4 ice barriers that must be broken down. For each barrier that is broken down, the Lich King sends even more undead in the next wave. Be wary of the abominations. They do an aoe slime in a cone in front of them that will do heavy damage to anyone standing in the way. Overall, this encounter is pretty intense and I give props to Blizzard for the originality.
For those of you that would rather skip the RP of the Lich King chasing you and would like to make the gauntlet slightly easier, you can stay at the back of the hallway and let the Lich King pass you up. Make sure to stay out of his aura. As he spawns the waves of undead, they will run back to you. So you seem to have a little bit more time to prepare for the waves and to get them down. As your leader breaks down the walls, you need to advance behind the Lich King so you don’t get too far behind. This is pretty simple and easy compared to the first two bosses in the instance. Basically, all you need to do is defeat the waves of undead and make it to the ship at the cliff. Your loot is contained inside of the captain’s chest on the deck of the ship. All in all, this dungeon is the hardest in the game at the moment, but it’s also one of the most fun. It is very intense and worth the struggle to get through it.
